[Drama CD] Review – “Ore-sama Residence: Arisugawa vs Saionji – Vol. 1 (Arisugawa SIDE)”

Back in 2018 I did a review for Ore-sama Residence: Vol. 1 Fuji Saionji because it had my fav voice actor Shunsuke Takeuchi (so I only jumped into this series for him, I forgot to buy the first introductory Drama CD that explained everything lol). Now back in March 2020 I got an email request to review the rest of the Drama CD series… now there’s a lot of drama CDs in this series which would prolly rack up a lot of money to buy all of them but I’m going to try to manage to cover at least the bare minimum. These drama CDs don’t come cheap y’know, but this is all for the sake of making content for this blog lol.

There are about 4 “seasons” that make up the Ore-sama Residence series. The first batch of Drama CDs focused on the elite Saionji family, the second batch which I will be reviewing this time around focuses on the rival elite family Arisugawa and also marriage? lol. Anyway, enough chit chat let’s jump in.

Happy Valentine’s Day Y’all!! A very, very belated Valentine’s Day post by yours truly 😆

Anyway, what a great idea of a day to spend time with your significant other… or your favorite voice actor just whispering in your ear for a good solid hour. Yes it’s been a while since I last reviewed a drama CD and it may even be the first time I’ll do a proper review on an Otomate brand drama/situation CD.

As you can tell from the title I’ll be reviewing one CD from the Ore-sama Residence -Saionji Sankyoudai- series by Otomate Records.

So sit back for the day, maybe buy a few discounted valentine chocolates to nibble on (if there is still any left on the shelf) and just be transported away into any Drama CD of your choice. I don’t care if it’s no longer Valentine’s Day. Treat yo self. Meanwhile, here’s my review on Fuji Saionji’s CD.

Rejet’s 2018 Announcements

Pretty much late on this post (more than a week late) but better late than never, haha. I’m not sure if Rejet had another “fes” to announce the new stuff happening this year or they just plain ol’ dumped youtube videos and called it an announcement considering they haven’t updated their site’s latest “events” sections since August 2017.

There’s a couple of old stuff getting some new volumes, its part of Rejet’s policy to milk the popular stuff as best they can, but there’s a couple of new IPs that seem quite interesting so let’s have a look, shall we?

[2017 Recap & Review] Week 1 – Drama CD Reviews

This year I’ll be doing the yearly recap & review posts a bit differently, I’ll be doing separate posts for each review subject so it’ll be posted for each week in December and finally doing an overall recap post at the end of the month.

I’m splitting things up because I won’t be available to blog during late November/whole of December as I’ll be overseas with no internet access, or at least no regular access.

This week I’ll be recapping and reviewing the drama CDs I’ve been listening to in 2017.

[Drama CD] Review – Midnight Jiangshi: Tenchou Yuugi (Chuchu)

It’s Halloween and what better way to spend the day than to listen to some jiangshi boyos having a hard time trying to drink some capri sun without the straw while moaning (it’s a weird habit that plagues many jiangshi). It’s a long time coming for me to review Chuchu, I think I said I’d do a review as soon as I got the CD but I just kept forgetting and things were eating away at my time, but here we are.

Chuchu was release back in May so this review is super late, I apologize for the wait and I hope this review isn’t a big fat poopoo. Anyway, here’s a copy-and-paste introduction I used for the previous reviews to keep everyone back on track on what this series is:

Midnight Jiangshi: Tenchou Yuugi is the follow up CD series of the original Midnight Jiangshi. Not sure whether to call it a sequel or anything seeing that CDs like these don’t have consistent continuity, I’m looking at you, Diabolik Lovers.

Everything is almost the same in this new series, except the fact that Meimei is missing/doesn’t have a CD in this series and there’s two new jiangshi/kyonshi. The main focus of this series is the new rivals and the lead up to the ‘Red Full Moon’, said to have a certain significance to the jiangshi.

[Drama CD] Oniichannel CD Collection Vol.1 ~Oniichan to Sugosu Dokidoki❤Valentine~

Its spring time somewhere in the other hemisphere of the world, love is in the air, y’all know what time it is…. Valentine’s Da–Oh wait I’m 3 months too late lmao. Either way it’d prolly would’ve been still winter during February so I’ve already ruined this intro terribly.

I’ve been meaning to do an “Otome Watch” post on Oniichannel ever since I started the Otome Watch post category, but after doing my first one on Toraware no Palm I found it really hard to keep updating it and keeping up with the news about it that I kinda forgot about it. But I’m still following Oniichannel even just a little bit. But for the sake of this post I’ll do a little introduction.

Rejet’s 2017 Announcements – Rejet Fes. 2017

Rejet Fes. 2017 happened over the weekend on the 21st and 22nd of January. This event wasn’t streamed on youtube or nico douga like last year’s change announcements, instead it was a behind closed doors event where only those who had bought tickets would attend. There were two sessions per day, the day session and the night session over the two days of the event. Guests were treated to live performances as well as segments with casts from all kinds of rejet games and cds (e.g Hikaru Midorikawa, Toshiyuki Toyonaga, Toshiki Masuda etc).

Of course I can’t say much about it because I never went, like how can I when I’m stuck in Australia lol. I’m not 100% sure what transpired in the events but I do know that at the same time of the event they released videos on their youtube channel on new announcements. Maybe they were first announced at the event, but I can’t know for sure haha.

Since the event it seems like they cleaned up their website too, where now the rotating feature banner only shows the new stuff for 2017. They used to have the featured banners go back to like 2014 stuff or something but now its like a new clean slate. Also they seemed to change up the format of the official websites for Drama CDs, where you just scroll down for more info rather than schedule dates and character info in different pages. Character info now just pops up when clicking on an image so I guess thats aight, tho it does make it harder to link to a character’s profile when it doesn’t have a html/page to link to lol.

It really does seem like Rejet is changing things up, especially with their planned lineup for this year. I guess you could really say they fulfilled their promise of ‘change‘, fruit muscle man will be pleased.
