[Mobile] Review – Mr. Love: Queen’s Choice

In preparation to playing Tears of Themis‘ CBT (closed beta testing) I checked out another game made by a Chinese based game company Papergames, a company that focuses on making female oriented mobile games such as the dress-up game Nikki series, just to get a feel on the difference between Japanese and Chinese female oriented games. Now it’s been, like, 2 months since ToT CBT happened and I didn’t get around writing this review until now.

I stopped playing since you-know-what happened back in June, 2021 (I will discuss this at the end of the review), so I may be a bit forgetful on how I felt about this game so this may be a bit of a short review. Please bear with me.

I’ll be reviewing the English Global version as well as review the anime (hoo boy, that is a whole other beast).

[Mobile] Quick look at… Dance Trips – Mini Review

Otomate back at it again with their mobile game release. This one has been in the oven for quite a while where it had been announced back in 2016 with no set release date and had been quiet for 2 whole years until just recently when it poofed out of thin air to be released in app stores.

So Dance Trips seems to be some kind of project between Otomate and Kenjiro Tsuda. I don’t know why but the subtitle or extra text would always mention that its “Tsuda Kenjiro x Otomate” as if it’s Tsuda’s idea with Otomate to have this BDSM strip club where he’s the owner and Daisuke Namikawa, Tetsuya Kakihara and Wataru Hatano are his strippers. Like, I’ve seen a couple of pics in B’s Log promoting this game where there’s photos of him showing the voice actors their characters and some other papers lying on the table so it makes me wonder how much was Tsuda was involved in this 🤔

[Mobile] Quick look at… LibraryCross∞ – Mini Review

LibraryCross∞ is Otomate’s latest mobile game. It was developed with the help of Wright Flyer Studios and had been delayed for quite a bit until now… though you’ll never guess why it had been delayed until I reveal it later into this review. The mobile game centers around a group of strangers finding themselves trapped inside a library. It is also a crossover of a select few Otomate games, where the heroine would explore their worlds by jumping into a book.

Otomate has also planned for an anime to be made in the future (of course they are), which may mean that we’ll see Otomate characters crossover in anime form too–which won’t get weird whatsoever when there might be characters with the same voice actor talking in the same scene (just kidding, I’ve yet to see characters with the same voice interact in the game).

This review is gonna be mighty quick and messy because….. yeesh, I just can’t bring myself to play it anymore but I also feel like I should talk about it on this blog. Fair warning, this review might be biased because it’s heavily based on my opinion. So if you don’t want to be swayed by my opinion and you want to give this game the benefit of the doubt, I’d suggest trying it out and form an opinion by yourself.

[PS Vita] Review – Psychedelica of the AA-Nisus (Haitaka no Psychedelica)

Psychedelica of the AA-Nisus (or for the long version: “Psychedelica of the AA-Nisus. Snowdrop and Via-Kaleido stories for children”) is the second game in the Psychedelica series from Otomate, the first being Psychedelica of the Black Butterfly. It features a fully voiced cast–yes, the heroine is voiced and the voice actress does a great job at it. Artwork is done by the artist from the first game, Satoru Yuiga.

It is a ‘gothic romance’ set in a medieval fantasy where it focuses on this one town that has been cursed in an eternal winter by, what the locals suspect, a witch who’s eyes would glow red. The protagonist is Jed, having been raised as a male to hide the fact that she has the witch’s red eye, who acts as a peace keeper between the clashing clans–the Wolf Clan (Wolg) and the Hawk Clan (Falj ?, I’m not sure how to translate ファルジ). While the power struggle between the two clans over the town continues, a suspected serial killer called the “Black Shadow” has started to cause unrest within the town…

Just a heads up, this review will be from the point of view of someone who hasn’t played the first game. I won’t get the references of that game made in this game so I’m sorry.

 »Spoilers start from here onwards!«

If you don’t want to be spoilt then click here for my final thoughts

Honestly, this game is best played knowing nothing much beforehand
