[Vtuber] Mark Your Calendars! Holostars EN Talents Regis Altare and Axel Syrios 3D Debut starting from Feb. 3 (PST)

Sorry oomf-chans, this is really late considering that Axel will be having his 3D Showcase in like… a couple of hours.

But better late than never to give support!

What is Holostars EN?

Holostars EN is an all-male Vtuber group under the talent agency ‘Hololive Production’ that debuted 4 members in 2022. They are the English branch to Holostars JP, which originally debuted in 2019.

Under the Hololive Production talent agency, the talent’s usual activities involve streaming (doing let’s plays, chatting, creative content, variety etc) as well as ‘idol’ activities that involves doing song covers and eventually live performances when talents have ‘3D bodies’ (mocap).

Currently there are 10 active talents in Holostars EN, originally having 12 members. There are two units within Holostars EN: holoTEMPUS and holoARMIS, with ARMIS being the latest members to debut.

Both TEMPUS and ARMIS share a ‘lore’/setting where the talents’ character design and backstory are tied to a digital world called ‘Elysium’ where they fight Corruption Beasts.

What is a 3D Showcase?

A 3D Showcase is when a talent of Hololive Production shows off their ‘3D body’ for the first time. In these two upcoming week’s case Holostars EN talents Regis Altare and Axel Syrios will be showcasing their 3D bodies.

Usually talents will get their 3D body the first year of their activities in the company, though for the HQ members of Tempus/Holostars EN it has taken 1.5+ years for them to get their 3D bodies.

In 3D showcases, you’ll expect to see the talent using a 3D model that is almost a 1:1 replica to their character design you usually see in their normal streams. With 3D and motion capturing technology, you can see your favourite talent move and get an understanding of their body language.

What the talent will do during their showcase depends on what they and management has planned, but here are some things to expect (you can make this into a bingo card if you want):

Singing performances of song covers
Comedy skits
‘Superchat’ gimmicks (depending on how many superchats, there may be a flood of 3D objects representing each superchat but not every 3D showcase stream has this)
Surprise cameos from other talents (this can be talents from the same branch, ‘senpais’ from Holostars JP or Hololive members etc)
Talent’s mascots/viewer representation in 3D–often used for either cute moments or mascot abuse moments
Unique 3D environments that tie close to the talent’s personality/’lore’
Original Song performances (can either be previous original songs or never premiering a new original song)

Most 3D Showcases go for 1 hour, by the way.

Due to the high tech equipment used such as mocap body suits and a studio specializing in motion capturing, all talents who reside outside of Japan are required to travel to Japan in order to record in Hololive Production’s studios. The duration they stay in Japan is dependent on the talent and the company’s requirements.

Final Thoughts

Okay, this is the section where I drop all pretenses of being ‘professional’ and just freely cry about how happy I am that the boys are getting 3D models.

I legit screamed when I saw the notification on twitter announcing that my home boys Shiny Spicy (Altare’s and Axel’s combo name) were in Japan because they’re preparing for their 3D showcases.

ueueueue I’m just so happy for them. They’ve been through a lot but now with the 3D models, they’ll have many more opportunities open up for them! And it seems like they’re having fun in Japan. It just makes me happy.

Considering that in March when HoloPro Expo will happen, and that they teased that they will show a special episode of the Holostars original 3D anime where ‘Holostars EN’ will be in it… I think it’s safe to say that the HQ members won’t be the only members getting 3D this year 😏

I’m crossing my fingers that most of Holostars EN gets their 3D just in time for Holostars’ 5th Anniversary which will happen in June 2024. Mayhaps we can see 19 members of Holostars (JP & EN) in 3D for the Anniversary stream? It may be too early for Armis to get 3D models but it would be neat to have all 23 with models by the end of 2024.

Also, 3rd ACT concert with Uproar and Holostars EN perms pls? 🥺 Let’s manifest it happening!

Anyway, my predictions for the upcoming 3D showcases:

Axel does an Axel (as in something unhinged or messed up) in his 3D body
- Manifesting a DnB reference blease….
Axelotl Abuse in 3D
Twerking / throwing it back in loving memory of Magni Dezmond
3D Altventure/Cultare slimes will be cute
Demon God King Regis cameo
Holostars JP members cameo (either to chat/comedy skits or singing performances)
Maybe Hololive ID or EN members cameo
A good amount of song performances for HQ 3D Collab Stream (we will cry when they perform ‘Top of the World’
Shiny Spicy chaotic moments but also teetee (precious) moments
Possibly 3D commemorative merch (open up your wallets oomfies)
