Yeah I caved in haha. This will be a hybrid post of an ‘unboxing’ and a quick look at the system. I’m certainly a year late on doing a little review on this console but maybe it’s better to hear it from an ‘otome’ consumer’s point of view (if that makes sense).
Hopefully this post will be useful and maybe even helpful now that I’ve had some first hand experience with a Switch.
It took over a month to get here but I finally have my big ol’ yaoi hands on Side Kicks! I guess all those public holidays during April made it harder for it to get mailed to my door 😅 I was thinking of getting a special set like the animate set but decided to hold back bc I’m already drowning in badges and stuff and I’ve gotta think about saving money. Though the Imajin special shop bonus had a Rico dakimakura cover–wall scroll/tapestry, tho I wouldn’t put it up on my wall bc I might be judged by others considering he looks like a 12 year old (he’s actually 19 going on 20). You can be the judge of that by looking at the sample image of the almost dakimakura-esque wall scroll/poster/whatever it is. The funny thing is that they don’t have the same treatment done to the other characters so Rico is just special.
I did however bought the limited edition of Side Kicks!, particularly from CD Japan which delivered on its usual bromide store bonus, however instead of giving 2 bromides of different CGs they only gave out 1 which I won’t complain bc I wasn’t expecting much lol.
Seeing that this post will be a bit short if I just talked about the stuff that comes with the Limited Edition, I’m gonna also talk about my first impressions on the game after playing it for 2 hours or so. Hopefully this post will give some ppl some insight into what kind of game Side Kicks! is, and hopefully I’ll get to finish it and actually write a proper review this time. Please be patient with me lol.
(Better photo quality prolly because of the lighting lol)
I received my copy about 3 days ago but was busy with assignments but in the end I just gave up so here we are! I bought my limited edition at CDJapan so theres nothing special about this unboxing except for the usual bonus pictures CDJapan gives you, and because of that I’ll also be doing a “Quick look at”. Just a reminder, “quick look at” posts are me giving impressions on a game after playing it for 2 hours or so.
Purchasing at CDJapan gives you two bonus pictures of Kageyuki and Takeru. Preordering it gives you a bonus CD and you get another bonus CD with your limited box along with a small booklet and of course the game.
The small booklet has character profiles, promotional images and other things like the X-Days Countdown summaries that you should read up on (if you can, theres a bunch of kanji there lol). Its not necessarily spoilers, it helps you understand the backstory of the incidents that leads up to the start of CollarxMalice.
Different arrangements this time seeing that my room is now a dump for things that used to belong in my old shelf, that has now been dismantled and I’m currently waiting for a new shelf so that’ll take a while. So with the little space left in my room here’s an unboxing post!
I bought the limited ami-hime set for Beast and Princess, while Tsumi Kui only came in one regular ver. but I was sure surprised that it had a outer cd jacket sleeve…
I’m thinking about either playing it by myself or streaming it. Then again I haven’t found enough spare time to stream Anata Nikki lately so we’ll have to see.
Originally this came to my house on the 8th of August but because I was away at uni I had to pick it up the next day and I didn’t have time to do a post so here we are 😂 typing the intro of this at uni.
I mentioned 8th of August because it’s an important date for this game.8/8 is the date for the secret live performance by Super A-TO, in the game, so I think this must mean a good omen that it arrived at my house on 8/8….. Maybe? 😂 everything in this game is a mystery so I want to go into it spoiler free.
I was starting to worry for my package because there was an R18+ bonus in it and I was fearing customs would hold it back (I’m not sure if Australia is cool with importing explicit pics of dickles or anything), but here we are!
I guess you could call this my early Christmas and birthday gift to myself? lol. All of these are limited editions from Animate and damn, thats a lot of moolah spent.Which is why I was really worried if customs withheld my package because of one optional R18 bonus lol. Theres a lot to go through so I’ll try to separate per game.
I bundled these games together seeing that I was buying the regular edition and I wasn’t really expecting much seeing that I purchased Brothers Conflict after it was released (first press/preorder bonuses should’ve been sold out). So I was surprised seeing the bonus drama CD and photos of the CGs lol.
I will also be doing a quick review based on my impressions of my 2 hours of playing each game.
I just got it in the mail and thought I should do an ‘unboxing’ post. Tho I wouldn’t exactly call it an unboxing when there’s not much to unbox seeing that I bought the regular edition from CD Japan, which comes with a big tin badge of and I quote “Purple Hair Character” as described from their website lol.
The White Day Postcards weren’t exactly a preorder/first press bonus, I guess it’s a little gift from Neo-Romance Games/Tecmo Koei. I guess I’ll be putting them in the pile of postcards I will never send because I don’t understand how mailing stuff works lol.
Now it wouldn’t really make much of an entertaining post if I just left it at that so I’ll write up my impressions on it from playing for 2 hours…
