[Nintendo Switch] Otome Game Demos on the Switch

Up until recently there has been no sign of demos of otome games being released to the Nintendo Switch. The Switch has a growing library of otome games and when compared to its counterparts like galges (visual novels prominently featuring a cast of girls) on the Switch which has countless demos, the otoge side has been a bit lacklustre with delivering the demo goodness…

Until recently.

As I am writing right now there are 3 whole ass otoge demos on the Switch. While two of them are available in both the Japanese eShop and any English based eShop, the third demo is Japanese eShop exclusive.

Even though the games that have demos are kinda spoiled by the header image, here’s a run down of the latest demos released:

English based eShops:

[ENG] Ayakashi Koi Gikyoku -Forbidden Romance with Mysterious Spirit-

[ENG] Gakuen Club

Japanese eShop:

[JPN] Ayakashi Koi Gikyoku -Forbidden Romance with Mysterious Spirit-

[JPN] Gakuen Club

[JPN – Exclusive] Private Academy VerRose ~The Rose of Versailles Re*Imagination~

*May edit this post to add new demos

The amount of play time for each demo may vary, but usually it’s 1-2 hours and focuses mainly on the prologue/first chapter.

While PS Vita had a fair amount of otoge demos, it seems like this might be the first time Otomate has released a demo for one of their console games (or at least a first in a long time–and excluding the demos of their PC games which is a given with most PC games). Hopefully Otomate keeps this up and release a few more demos considering it helps with product sales.

Reminder, if you want to make a Japanese eShop account (or any region account), check out this video out:

It’s a pretty easy to follow video guide and hopefully it helps.

Thanks for reading!
